What would Wysdom read?

A few weeks ago, I read a book that had me laughing out loud so hard, I thought I'd pee my pants. At one point, I stopped and thought: This gal would be besties with Wysdom!

It got me thinking - if Wysdom Ward had a reading list, what would it be?

Here are a few suggestions that you might like.

The book that had me nearly peeing myself is A Bad Day for Sunshine by Darynda Jones. It's about Sunshine Vicram who just became Sheriff of Del Sol, New Mexico... and she doesn't even remember campaigning. It's got mystery and a whole mess of snark. Book two is now out - A Good Day for Chardonnay. I finished it last week and can confirm - it's hilarious!

The Dirty Martini Running Club series by Claire Kingsley also made me LOL with some of her scenes like this one:

“She glanced at the pen in her hand, as if remembering it was there, then touched the tip to the side of her neck. Moving her hand slowly, she absently traced it down her skin, toward the open collar of her shirt. My eyes followed, drawn toward the swell of her breasts behind that tantalizingly proper blouse. Then I noticed she had drawn a blue line down her skin.”

I laughed a good long while at that one. Because I've done it.

If you love historical romances with a side of mystery, I might recommend C.J. Archer's Glass and Steele series. Paranormal slow-burn romance.

Snark + steampunk + paranormal romance = The Parasol Protectorate series by Gail Carriger. These books have been called "Buffy meets Jane Austen." And I couldn't read them fast enough.

(I read a lot of paranormal romance...)

Let me know what you thought of the recommendations and tell me what you're reading this summer!
